The Richmond upon Thames School Celebrates Outstanding GCSE Results
Congratulations to our students, staff, and parents on your monumental achievement. You have achieved an outstanding set of results that I know you will all be immensely proud of. As students embark on pastures new, whether on the campus at our RTS Sixth-Form Plus or further afield, they carry with them the fruits of their hard work.
We are delighted with this year’s results, with 83% of students achieving a Grade 4 or above in Maths, 82% in English, and 75% of students achieving a Grade 4 or above in both English and Maths, with 60% at Grade 5 or above. These results reflect the hard work and determination of the students, staff, and their families.
Ms Kelly Dooley, Head Teacher, said:
“They all leave RTS as resilient, courageous, and ambitious young adults. Their time here has been a journey of striving to become the very best version of themselves, and now they move forward, full of excitement about whatever challenge lies ahead.
While many students will remain with us on campus at RTS Sixth-Form Plus, others will move on to a variety of post-16 options, and we wish them well in their next chapter. It is important that we celebrate every individual student’s performance and highlight a few exceptional accomplishments. Just a few of these include Layla, Georgia H, Lottie, Magdalena and Rishi who all achieved 9 Grade 9-7s. In addition, Charlie W has been accepted on a rugby scholarship at Millfield School, Nevaeh will be studying Sports Science and Exercise at Kingston College; Noah B has been awarded a scholarship to study his A-Levels at Gordon’s School via the Harlequins ACE Programme; and Alex S is going to study at Global Academy.”
"As our 3rd cohort of students receive their GCSE results I’m struck by the continued growth seen across all areas of the school. That the hard work of the students and staff has been rewarded with these excellent results reinforces the ethos and approach of RTS. On behalf of the Trustees I want to offer my congratulations and best wishes to all our students as they embark on the next stage of their journey and to our staff, a heartfelt thank you for the incredible job they have done. I am immensely proud to be associated with RTS." - Jason Hughes, Chair of Trustees.
As we reflect on and celebrate the successes of this year, we are reminded of the steadfast commitment of our entire school community. Together, we look forward to supporting our students as they continue to grow and achieve in the next exciting chapter of their lives.
