• Linked in to our World Book Day theme last week of 'Other Worlds', the lunchtime Book Club, run by Ms Richards, are reading Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones. In this beloved modern classic, young Sophie Hatter from the land of Ingary, catches the unwelcome attention of the Witch of the Waste and is put under a spell... You will have to read it yourself to find out more! • Enjoying the lighter afternoons, but hoping for brighter days for our 'Road Runners' Enrichment. Mr Oberoi and Ms Webb are leading up this group of students. Regular physical activity such as running (or jogging) can significantly improve mental health, self-confidence, improve muscle strength and tone and can lead to better sleep. • Every year at RTS we choose a theme, and this year we are exploring all stories set in 'Other Worlds'. All week, at the start of each KS3 lesson, teachers have shared a 5-10 minute World Book Day themed 'Do Now' - provided by the English Department. This is a fun way to show our students how important reading is! Hard hitting truth ...reading books can really improve your vocabulary, your focus and concentration and your memory. Don't like reading...try an audio book instead - the impact is still the same! World Book Day Tokens are available in the Library/ILZ this week for students to pick up. You will work as part of a team of invigilators who will ensure exams are carried out according to the JCQ regulations.
